Comme beaucoup d’adolescents de ma génération,
J’avais pratiqué la photographie argentique
dans toute la chaîne allant de la prise de vue,
jusqu’au développement (en noir et blanc, toujours !),
avec le «Durst » installé dans la salle de bain.
Et puis la photo devint utilitaire
dans ma panoplie d’architecte.
Face à la pratique du dessin et de la peinture,
elle m’apparut plate et vide.
L’accès récent à la photographie numérique
et à ses traitements possibles par ordinateur
m’ont permis de retrouver cette passion juvénile
avec, peut-être, un peu plus de maturité
dans le regard qui cherche,
qui compose et interroge le réel.

Like many adolescents of my generation,
I used analog photography in all its different steps
from beginning to end, from shooting to developing
(always in black and white, of course !)
with the “Durst” set up in my bathroom.
Then photography became
one of the tools I used as an architect.
When compared to drawing and painting,
it became in my eyes flat and empty.
The recent creation of digital photography
and its possibilities of treatment on the computer
made me discover again this old passion of mine
with a little bit more maturity
in the way I look at things,
I compose an image and question reality. |
