Dans la pratique de ces nouveaux matériaux,
il y eut sans doute du jeu à renouer ainsi
avec (peut-être?) de l’atavisme...
Mais ce fut surtout le fait
de deux très belles rencontres,
l’une avec un fabricant de tapis,
esthète et humaniste,
l’autre avec un maître couturier
qui aime à justre titre se définir
comme un compositeur d’étoffes.
L’expérimentation de créations,
déroulées à plat au sol et sur lesquelles on marche,
ou enroulées autour d’un corps en mouvement,
créa un foisonnement passionnant
de questions et de problématiques nouvelles. |
When working with these new materials,
I also had the playful feeling of connecting
with something (maybe) atavistic.
But it also came as a result
of meeting two very special people:
one was a carpet maker,
an aesthete and a humanist
the other a master tailor
who appositely likes to refer to himself
as a fabric composer.
Experimenting with pieces
laid on the ground and that you can walk on,
or wrapped around a moving body,
brought to life a fascinating myriad
of new researches and questions. |
